Rebuilding a Strong and Safe Home After a Wildfire

This is our story of survivors who lost our home to 2017 Tubbs wildfire, and our journey to rebuild a concrete house that stands strong against future disasters.

The recovery is a long journey. We did not want to go through that again. No way we rebuild a burnable house! For us, a concrete house was the best choice, not the easiest task.

After a litigation, we decided to rebuild it ourselves: we learned each job. It was a full time job, but we made no compromise.

At the time of our project, there were not a lot of resources about the panels. We had to figure out everything ourselves and to create our own guidelines. Our techniques surprised the contractors working around, the inspectors of the permit, our structural engineer that used to work with the panels, and even the architect of the manufacturer.
