This world came to be after the conquest of Mexico and Peru by Spanish and allied forces. Silver was discovered in Potosi (now Bolivia) in 1545 and was first traded in the Philippines in 1571. The Manila galleons became the first truly global system where materials coming from the Americas in ships controlled by a European power traded with pacific Asian powers. It's networks also mirror American power projection today.
