About Quokka Behavior

Quokkas are small, friendly marsupials that live in Australia, and they’re known for being super curious and chill. They mainly eat plants like grasses, leaves, and shrubs, and they’re nocturnal, meaning they come out mostly at night to search for food. During the day, they usually rest in the shade or hide in thick bushes to stay cool. Even though they’re not fast movers, their friendly and laid-back vibe makes them easy to approach, and you’ll often find them in small groups just hanging out.

These little guys are pretty social and tend to form loose groups. They’re not super aggressive with each other, so their interactions are mostly calm and involve things like grooming or sharing food. They also make low-pitched sounds from time to time, and sometimes they play by chasing each other around or hopping about. Even though they don’t have a super complex social life, quokkas definitely stick together for safety and company.

Quokkas are also really good at adapting to their environment. They know how to find shelter in thick plants and navigate tricky, rocky terrain. They don’t need to drink much water because they get most of their hydration from the plants they munch on. Even though they’re usually calm, quokkas will freeze or try to run if they feel threatened. But, they’re also really curious, so they might come up to new things or people to check them out.
