Introduction

Hello,

I’m Maddie Whitestine, a recent graduate of SFSU from Santa Rosa. I received my B.S. in Visual Communication Design which is a combination of interactive and graphic design. I have a passion for problem solving and strategy and it’s something I bring with me in my design.

I am versatile in many types of design, but my focus is in UX/UI, graphic and editorial design in particular. I am skilled in creating user-centered interfaces, engaging layouts and content. My design process is driven by design thinking and ideating many solutions. I am a quick learner, highly driven, and dedicated to improving my skill. Beyond design, I love spending time with family and friends, reading a good book and traveling.

I look forward to bringing my skills and passion to your team.

Movie Poster

This project was recreating a movie poster.
I chose one of my favorites from the 1940s. A noir film called “Double Indemnity” which has classic femme fatale from this time period. I chose a geometric modern look despite the age of the movie because I wanted to portray sharp angles. I then illustrated a female silhouette dominating the poster as a juxtaposition for the movie. Lastly, I created the ultimate main characters together in a pose from the movie. I thought their body language in this scene was perfect for the essence of the poster and movie.
