Practice Problems by Unit
Frequently, the success a student has in AP Physics 1 can be attributed by their ability to become proficient in individual units of material. Instead of trying to combine all of the material, your reading, discussing, and studying plan will be more efficient by studying by units (kinematics, dynamics, energy, momentum, etc.). By doing so, you will have material that is manageable, and a greater opportunity to achieve an understanding of it. Each unit builds on a previous unit, and studying with a unit by unit approach also allows you to not only understand the main ideas; but also practice problem-solving as it relates to assessments.
Practicing individually by unit will help you discover who you are as a learner as well as your strengths and weaknesses for the entire AP Physics 1 course. For example, you may feel very confident about Newton's laws, but require a notable amount of time on torque or fluids. By practicing problems, remembering important equations, or applying concepts to your own experiences within each unit, you will build a body of knowledge and confidence to be able to address multi-step, complex problems on the assessment. Unit practice is an intelligent targeted, focused approach that can maximize your preparation while making it efficient. This page has resources linked so you can practice problems from specific units.
