Managing the AP Class

AP Physics Class

Being organized and effectively managing your time is one of the most important steps to being successful and earning an A in an AP class. AP classes can cover a lot of material and cover it quickly, so it is extremely important to stay on top of your daily assignments, and review information regularly instead of cramming. You can use a planner or digital calendar to keep track of deadlines, tests and study blocks, which helps visualize amount of work to work into smaller parts. Similarly, avoid large accumulations of topic material to review before the test by reviewing notes, flashcards, and/or practice problems regularly each day, even for a few minutes, will keep concepts fresh. Hopefully you will improve on the more difficult ideas as we proceed, and avoid an extreme accumulation of topics.

It is also important to participate in class and ask for help when needed. Engaging in discussions and asking questions allows you to deepen your understanding of the material while letting your teacher know that you are interested in the class! Seeking study group opportunities with friends gives there friends an opportunity to support you in your learning while also providing the essence of collaboration and motivation for accountability purposes. There may be a valuable difference in perception with respect to lean about subject area concepts. There are many resources out including review books, free online practice exams, teacher review sessions, and tutoring services available to you to help reinforce learn concepts and procedures. Earning an A in an AP class is not impossible, just require effort, time, commitment to learning, and effective study habits!
