Class System

Remnant 2 uses a class system called archetypes. Players' Archetype choice at the beginning of the game is important, but they can change them to another one later on by using another Archetype's item if they so desire. There are five starting archetypes players can choose from with even more to be unlocked as you play. This page will focus on the starting five archetypes, going over their names, play styles, benefits, and other information to help you choose which to start with.

Challenger

The Challenger is reminiscent of the Scrapper in the first game, Remnant: From the Ashes. He thrives in close combat situations and has increased survivability, making him an ideal Archetype for the tank role. Specialising in close-range combat, the Challenger doesn't rely too much on accuracy. This makes Weapons with less accuracy more viable for this Archetype. New players may find the Challenger a good choice for a starting Archetype, given its durability.
