Hello my name is Brandon Castaneda and I am currenty taking the web development course at Santa Rosa Junior
College.
I am pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity and chose this class as one of my electives. I am super glad I am taking
this course
alongside my Python and Linux ones because it gives me more practice and confidence in this new world
I have recently
dove into. Since I have no previous experience it is great that I am able to already touch multiple parts
of the cyber space;
coding, web development, networking, and operating systems. I am excited to continue pursuing
this career and really enjoyed
this midterm project.
I chose the Asian monitor lizard because of my latest trip to Southeast Asia. While traveling through Bangkok,
I discovered
that the city had monitor lizards living all throughout. Mainly in the city's large wildlife park, but they can
be found almost
anywhere as they travel through the city's drain systems. As a small detail I also added some cyber
elements into my logo to make
it unique and keep it on brand with myself. The most challenging part about this
midterm for me was when we reached the selectors
section. I understood most of it but became lost at ID selectors
and descending selectors like p span. What I found most
surprising about the Asian monitor lizard is how vast
their habitat really is. They can be found all over Southeast Asia, from the
mainland all the way down to the lower
islands. Their adaptability was also very surprising as they eat both live and dead animals,
and thrive in both jungles
and urban environments such as Bangkok where I first found them.
