This website is a proof of concept. All recipes are of my own creation, but many of the images are not because I'm not much of a photographer. I don't claim anything here is wholly original. Most of these recipes definately started as something from some cookbook or website at some point, but over time I've made them my own.

While the actual reason I made this website was to practice HTML and CSS for school, I've honestly always wanted to make a cooking blog. I grew up in a family that was all about food. Everyone worked in the restaurant industry at one point or another. My dad has been cooking professionally for most of his life, my mom has jumped between various server and restaurant manager jobs as long as I can remember, the same goes for my sister, and lastly I worked various restaurant jobs back in college. My parents also owned their own restaurant for over a decade when I was a kid.

My dad taught me how to cook start in my early teens. He insisted his kids didn't grow up without knowing how to feed themselves. At least once a week, I had to make dinner for the family. I also ate up every cooking show and cookbook I could get my hands on. And after years of being on my own and cook for myself (and my partner) I think I am a pretty good cook.

Baking is also a major passion my mine. It was the one food thing I was better than my dad at. He never had the patience for baking. Whenever I ask my family if they want me to bring something during the holidays, it is unanimously some kind of baked treat.
