Project Summary

Geography and travel

The project will be part photo dump, part travelogue and part genuine scholarship. It will explore places I've traveled as part of a series of journeys exploring historic trade networks and how they affect and have been affected by areas I traveled through. The first is the Silk Road which represents the Eurasian heartland. This will include the Eurasian hordelands (basically Russia) and Eastern Europe. Then the Middle Corridor which will include the former Ottoman Empire and Central Asia where civilizations intersect. The second group is the Monsoon road which is maritime Eurasia meaning the south China, indian ocean, red sea and Meditteranean. Finally there will be the Silver Road which connected the ends of Eurasia (Iberia and China) through the Americas created the first truly global network in the Philippines. This will be a very general and inadequate outline as the web development will be the overwhelming focus.

This is a very loose amalgamation of the connections I would like to network recount experiences and explore. At this point they are very cluttered but they will become more fleshed out the more I work on the project I think.
